There are a few things that everyone can do to help this go a little faster, keep everyone safer, and help everyone to have a better time.
- Don’t congregate at the entry gate. (The only people that should be by the gate are: The next 3 teams, People helping with the gate, People helping with changing herds, etc…). Too many people in that small of an area isn’t safe and slows the whole day down.
- Pay attention to what teams are riding. The announcer calls out the next team, and the 2 teams on deck, if you are up within a team or two you should be heading to the entry gate. Don’t make everyone wait for you to get to the arena after your team should have already started.
- When we are collaring cattle, please stay out of the way unless you are helping. When people stand in the isle when we are bring cattle up, or when people just stand along the back wall when we run them through the cute, the cattle have a tendency to see you and turn back. This makes the whole process a lot harder.
- When we a settling the cattle please stay out of the arena unless you are helping. Once again if you are not helping you are in the way. It just makes the whole process go quicker if only the people helping are there. If you are new and your horse has never been around cattle, just talk with Dick and see if he’ll let you help settle cattle.
- When asked to clear the arena, please do so. Please be courteous and follow the direction of the announcer at all times. It just really helps the day to go so much faster.
With everyone’s help we can all have a good time.
